Drum Connection
In every part of the world and in every age, humanity is unified and reunited by music, by song, by sacred song.
Music has always been present at every stage of life, at precious moments of rite, celebration and passage.
Music accompanies us in joy, sustains us in sorrow.
Since the dawn of mankind, the drum, in all its forms, so diverse are the cultures and creations of its peoples, has been a weaver of bonds.
Drum is a creator of links.
Drum makes people dance, dream, meditate…
Drum connects people to their part of humanity.
Drum and Meditation
Indeed, when we take the time to explore what’s going on inside ourselves, it becomes easier to understand why we go through such experiences.
For example, it becomes possible to step back and determine the meaning of our lives with greater peace of mind. There are virtually as many methods and approaches to this awakening of consciousness as there are individuals in our world.
Meditation is probably one of the most commonly used.
It’s up to each and every one of us to find what best nourishes our inner quest.
Over the last few years, we’ve discovered that more and more people are turning to the use of a shamanic drum to accompany them in their meditation practice.
Creating Your Medicine Drum
Drum-making begins the moment we arrive at the workshop. It’s a process we experience consciously.
After choosing the frame for the drum, we let ourselves be guided in the choice of the skin.
Then, we embark on an initiatory journey to meet the animal.
Two elements make up the drum : the cedar frame and the skin which also serves as a binding.
During the two-day workshop, we’ll guide you through ancestral and traditional gestures.
A circle and a bit of geometry… and the drum already appears.
The braiding technique used and the decorations can follow sacred geometric shapes like a mandala.
Next, we’re off to the forest to find the wood for the mallet.
